
Baseball Returns Home to Welcome Princeton this Weekend

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – After consecutive weekends on the road, the Brown baseball team returns home for its final six games of the regular season, starting with a three-game series this weekend against Princeton.
Saturday's doubleheader is set for an 11:30 a.m. start time, with a ceremony between the two games to honor former Brown head baseball coach George "Woody" Woodworth, who passed away in March.
Sunday's single game is set for a noon start and will be Little League Day, with multiple Little Leagues from the greater Providence area in attendance. Sunday will also feature a free t-shirt giveaway.

SCOUTING BROWN (8-22, 3-12 Ivy)
- Sophomore infielder Reece Rappoli has reached base safely in 22 of his 27 games this season, leading the team with a .333 average.
- Junior infielder Ray Sass leads the team with 18 walks.
- Junior first baseman Ryan Marra has seven home runs, tied for 7th in the Ivy. He is second on the team with a .286 average, 17 RBIs and seven steals.
- Freshman outfielder Jared Johnson has hit four home runs in his last eight games, batting .295 on the season.
- Righthander Tobey McDonough ranks second in the Ivy with a 3.10 ERA, holding opponents to a .232 batting average. He tossed 7.0 innings last Saturday in a no decision at Penn, (tying his season-high), allowing one earned run on four hits.
- Brown's bullpen did not allow an earned run over 9.2 innings of relief in three games last weekend at Penn.
- Catcher Jacob Burley leads the Ivy with 13 runners caught stealing this season.
SCOUTING PRINCETON (6-27, 3-12 Ivy)
- The Tigers enter this weekend having lost two in a row, including two out of three last weekend against Harvard. Princeton fell 14-5 at home on Wednesday to NJIT.
- Princeton had a big non-league win back on April 20, taking down No. 8 Rutgers on the road, 9-7.
- Junior centerfielder Brendan Cumming is riding a 10-game hitting streak and is batting .377 (fourth in the Ivy) on the season with 10 doubles and seven homers. He is also second in the Ivy with 37 runs scored and has only struck out 12 times in 151 at bats.
- Two-way player Jackson Emus is batting .347 in 20 games offensively, while also posting a team-best 4.45 ERA on the mound in nine starts, striking out 57 batters in 54.2 innings.
- Nadir Lewis leads the team with nine homers and his hitting .313 on the year with seven doubles, 24 runs, and a team-high 25 walks.
