#5/10 Men's Lacrosse Hosts Dartmouth in Regular Season Finale Saturday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The #5/10 Brown Bears (9-4, 3-2 Ivy League) host the Dartmouth Big Green (4-8, 0-5 Ivy League) in the 2022 regular season finale Saturday at Stevenson-Pincince Field.
Brown looks to win a share of the Ivy League title and a Ivy League Tournament berth with a victory over the Big Green. Saturday's game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. and will stream on ESPN+.

SCOUTING THE BEARS
- Brown enters Saturday against Dartmouth with a four-game winning streak after last Tuesday's win over Bryant. The Bears look to win their fourth straight conference game with a win over the Big Green to finish 4-2 in league play.
- Brown's offense averages 13.62 goals per game to rank third in the conference and 21st in the NCAA.
- Devon McLane leads the team in goals (41), assists (21), points (62), shots (109), shots on goal (72), and man-up goals (9). He is one of four Bears with 20 or more goals this season.
- Defensively, Brown ranks third in the conference and 32nd in the NCAA with 11.38 goals against per game along with Cornell. Harvard leads the conference with 11.18 goals against per game.
- Connor Theriault has made 13 starts between the pipes and has been stellar over the last four games. Theriault holds a .560 save percentage to lead the conference and rank tenth in the NCAA. His 11.28 goals against average ranks second in the conference and 27th in the country.
- Matthew Gunty holds a .517 win-rate at the faceoff X with a team-leading 81 ground balls. He ranks second in the conference and 17th in the NCAA with 7.00 ground balls per game.
- Brown holds the best clearing percentage in the conference at .873. Dartmouth ranks last with a .799 clearing percentage.
- Dartmouth enters the 2022 regular season finale with a 4-8 overall record and 0-5 Ivy League mark. The Big Green went 4-3 in non-conference play before running into the buzzsaw that is Ivy League lacrosse.
- Dartmouth holds a pair of wins and a loss against common opponents with Brown, taking victories over Bryant (Feb. 26) and Vermont (Mar. 8) and suffering a one-goal loss to Stony Brook (Apr. 5). The Big Green also beat Siena (Mar. 5) and St. John's (Mar. 19) early in the season.
- Dartmouth has been competitive in conference play with an 8-7 loss at home against #7 Cornell (Apr. 2), a 12-10 loss at #3 Princeton (Apr. 16), and most recently a 16-12 loss at home against #12 Penn (Apr. 23).
- Offensively, Dartmouth scores 9.75 goals per game to rank 60th in the NCAA. George Prince leads the Big Green in goals (24), assists (17), points (41). Among Dartmouth players with three or more goals, he leads the team in shooting percentage (.333).
- Colin McGill and Matt Paul are second on the team with 23 goals apiece. McGill is second on the team with 30 points and Paul is third with 27 points.
- Dartmouth's man-up offense ranks 61st in the NCAA with 10 goals in 36 attempts (.278).
- Defensively, Dartmouth allows 12.25 goals per game to rank sixth in the Ivy League and 48th in the NCAA. Daniel Hincks has started all 12 games and holds a 12.38 goals against average and .522 save percentage.
- The Big Green's man-down defense ranks fifth in the Ivy and 50th in the NCAA with a .605 kill-rate (26-for-43).
- Dartmouth's faceoff unit leads the conference and ranks 15th in the NCAA with a .556 win-rate.
- Mitchell Myers is one of the strongest faceoff specialists in the nation. He leads the conference and ranks 14th in the country with a .573 win-rate (150-262). Myers leads the team with 73 ground balls.
- Saturday marks the 64th meeting between Brown and Dartmouth in a series dating back to 1926.
- The Bears hold a 44-19 all-time record against the Big Green and have won 12 in a row dating back to the 2008 season.
- Brown holds a 26-8 record against Dartmouth in the Ocean State.
- The 11 scorers and 12 players with a point against Bryant (Apr. 26) marked the most for Brown since 13 recorded a goal and 14 tallied a point in the 22-10 win at Providence (Mar. 5).
- Brown's offense has been more balanced of late as 11 players recorded at least a point in the wins over Yale (Apr. 16) and Cornell (Apr. 23).
- Brown is still the lone Ivy League team with four players with 20 or more goals.
- Brown is one of 17 teams in the NCAA with four 20+ goal scorers.
- Five teams have five players with 20 or more goals: Army, Georgetown, Rutgers, Stony Brook, and Virginia.
- The People's Goalie - as dubbed by Larken Kemp '17 - has been stellar over the last four games.
- In the last four games, all Brown wins, Theriault has stopped 71-of-111 shots for a .640 save percentage. He has allowed 40 goals in the four games to hold a 10.00 goals against average in the stretch.
- He recorded 13 saves at Penn (Apr. 9), 15 saves against Yale (Apr. 16), 24 saves at Cornell (Apr. 23), and 19 saves against Bryant (Apr. 26).
- Following the string of strong performances, Theriault has skyrocketed up the NCAA leaderboards.
- The North Herman, Massachusetts native holds a .560 save percentage to lead the Ivy League and rank 10th in the NCAA. Among underclassmen, Theriault's .560 save percentage leads the nation.
- He holds a 11.28 goals against average to rank second in the Ivy League and 27th in the NCAA. Cornell's Chayse Ierlan leads the conference (11.16).
- Among underclassmen, Theriault ranks third in the NCAA, trailing only Michigan sophomore Shane Carr (10.71) and Virginia freshman Matthew Nunes (11.12).
- McLane continued his standout junior campaign with two goals and an assist in the win over Bryant (Apr. 26).
- McLane native reached the 40-goal and 60-point milestones against the Bulldogs.
- He ranks third in the Ivy League and 15th in the NCAA with 4.77 points per game.
- He ranks fifth in the Ivy League and tied for 15th in the NCAA with 3.15 goals per game.
- He ranks tied for fifth in the Ivy and tied for 43rd in the NCAA with 1.62 assists per game.
- He is one of 18 in the NCAA with more than 40 goals and 60 points.
- He is one of eight players in the NCAA with 40 or more goals and 20 or more assists.
- With 62 points, McLane has the 16th most points in a single season in program history. He is nine points shy of matching Dylan Molloy's 2017 total of 71 points for 10th in program history.
- With 41 goals, McLane has the 14th-most in a single season in program history. He is five shy of matching Oliver Marti '93, Andy Towers '93, and Tad Barrows '80 for ninth in Brown history.
