PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown women's sailing team will host the 2022 ICSA Women's Team Race Championship this weekend at the Edgewood Yacht Club.
The Bears are ranked fifth out of 12 teams participating in the event, which will run from April 23-24 beginning at 10:30 a.m. on both days.
The format for the event will consist of three boats from each team with a crew and a skipper on each boat. Brown's skippers will be Caroline Bayless, Blaire McCarthy, and Olivia Belda, while the crews will be Emma Montgomery, Madeleine McGrath, Nora Ong, and Savannah Young. Both of these lineups are subject to change.
The women's sailing team has seen great success this season, finishing no lower than fourth at the last 13 events, dating back to September 2021. The Bears came in the top two in eight of those events, winning two. They will look to continue that success this weekend at the inaugural Women's Team Race National Championship.
The full list of participating teams and their seedings can be found below.
