
Sailing Finishes Third at Women's Atlantic Coast Championship, Captain Hurst Bowl

The women's team finished third out of the top 18 women's teams in college sailing at the Women's Atlantic Coast Championship, hosted by the U.S. Naval Academy, October 12-13. Katharine Doble '26 and Savannah Young '25 finished 6th in A-division, coming on a strong to finish the regatta with an impressive 2-2-5-1 scoreline.  Laura Hamilton '27 and Katherine Majette '27 finished 4th in B-division after 16 races and were the leaders after the first day. Â
The coed team finished a close third out of 15 teams at the Captain Hurst Bowl at Dartmouth, October 12-13, with Leyton Borcherding '25 and Helen Horangic '25 finishing 4th in A-division and Martins Atilla '27 and Brianna Ross '26 3rd in B-division.
The Bears had two teams at the Savin Hill Invite at Boston College on Saturday, October 12, finishing third and sixth in the 15 team event. Grace Ivancich '28 and Marin Soderberg '28 led the way finishing 3rd in B-division.Â
Brown finished fifth out of the top nine teams in New England at the NEISA Match Race Championship, hosted by Coast Guard.Â
The Bears had a 5-3 record in the round robin but lost in the quarter finals to the Coast Guard Academy.
Next weekend, October 19-20, Brown will be participating in the following events:  Â
