
#7 Women's Crew Set for Two-Day Big 10 Invitational

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The seventh-ranked Brown women's crew team returns to the water to compete in the two-day Big 10 Invitational, hosted by the University of Wisconsin, on Friday (Apr. 15) and Saturday (Apr. 16) at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Florida.
Brown is one of 16 programs competing in the Invitational. Including the Bears, there are five top-10 teams and ten top-20 programs in the field per the most recent Pocock CRCA Poll.
The two-day event is split into three sessions with two coming on Friday (Apr. 15) and the third session on Saturday morning (Apr. 16). The morning session is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. both days.
In the morning session on Friday, Brown will compete in heats alongside Stanford, Ohio State, and Wisconsin. The 2V4 is scheduled for 10:20 a.m. and is followed by the 1V8 and 2V8 at 11:40 a.m. and 11:50 a.m., respectively. The 1V4 closes out the morning session at 12:30 p.m.
In the afternoon session, Brown will race alongside Indiana, Michigan, and Notre Dame beginning with the 2V4 race at 2:15 p.m. The 1V8 and 2V8 will race at 4:25 p.m. and 4:35 p.m., respectively, and the 1V4 rounds out the day at 5:45 p.m.
The Bears will race with Rutgers, Washington State, and Wisconsin in the third session on Saturday, beginning with the 2V4 at 9:10 a.m. The 1V8 and 2V8 crews race at 11 a.m. and 11:10 a.m., respectively, and the 1V4 rounds out the two-day regatta at 12:10 p.m.
This weekend's trip to the Big 10 Invitational marks the first for the Bears. Brown previously competed in the Lake Natoma Invitational seven times from 2011-19.
This weekend's competition marks the second time Brown has seen Ohio State this season. The Bears raced against the Buckeyes and Princeton Tigers to open the spring slate on Lake Carnegie and edged out Ohio State in the Varsity 8 race and both four-boat races.
The 2022 NCAA Championships will be held at Nathan Benderson Park beginning on Friday, May 27 and continuing through Sunday, May 29.
Following the Invitational, the Bears head to Ithaca, New York to race against the Cornell Big Red and the Dartmouth Big Green on Saturday (Apr. 23).
