
Sailing opens 2022 season, women win Rhody the Riveter

At Rhody the Riveter, the Bears finished in fourth in the A-Division and first in the B-Division to claim the overall victory.
At the Women's Team Race hosted by Harvard, the Bears finished in second out of six teams. Brown was represented by Brielle Willoughby, Blaire McCarthy, Caroline Bayless, Catherine Morrissette, Savannah Young, and Nora Ong.
The Bears finished in third out of eight teams at the McMerrick Cup Team Race hosted by Roger Williams. Sailing for Brown was William George, Connor Macken, Jed Bell, Tommy Styron, Leyton Borcherding, Jacqui Rice, Olivia Miller, and Menasha Leport.
At Brown's lone home event of the weekend, the Sharpe Trophy Team Race, the Bears finished third of our eight teams. The team was made up by Olivia Belda, Hunter Zonnenberg, Jack Murphy, Connor Nelson, Emma Montgomery, Madeleine McGrath, Madeleine Montagner, and Julia Reynolds.
Competition will continue next weekend as the coed team takes part in three events from March 12-13 and the women's team heads to the Navy Women's Spring Team Race Interconference.
