Women's basketball plays host to Cornell

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown women's basketball will play its second-to-last home game of the season when the Bears take on Cornell on Saturday (Feb. 12). The game will be at the Pizzitola Sports Center and will tipoff at 2 p.m.
The game will be broadcast on ESPN+ with Mike Mancuso and Adam Giardino on the call.
There will be a t-shirt giveaway for the first 100 Brown students.

ABOUT BROWN
Brown earned its first win of the Ivy League season with a 70-56 win over Dartmouth on Tuesday (Feb. 8). The game was the rescheduled contest from the first meeting that was postponed on Jan. 8.
Kyla Jones reached 20 points for the second time this season with 21 points to lead the Bears over the Big Green. Jones also tied her career-high with six steals and filled the rest of the box score with a team-high seven assists and five rebounds.
Isabella Mauricio reached double-figures for the eighth-straight game with 18 points against Dartmouth. Mauricio has scored in double-figures in all but the first Ivy League game of the year against Penn. Mauricio was 4-for-8 from three against Dartmouth and has hit a three in all but one game this season (Wagner, Nov. 11). Mauricio has hit at least two threes in each of her last eight games.
The Bears had 12 steals against Dartmouth, the most since a 20-steal game against Fisher on Dec. 11. Brown had just one game (11 vs. Columbia) with double-digit steals in since the game against Fisher. Before the Fisher game, Brown had five double-digit steal games in its first ten contests.
Brown will look to win its second-straight game of the season taking on Cornell. The Bears lost the first meeting against the Big Red 55-61 in Ithaca on Jan. 29, just four games ago.
In the loss to Cornell, Mauricio led the Bears with 24 points and Kyle Jones finished the game with 13 points, six rebounds and three assists. The Bears struggled to contain Samantha Will who finished with a 17-point, 12-rebound double-double and added five steals. Theresa Grace Mbanefo was second on the team with 16 points and nine rebounds.
Brown was done in at the free throw line against the Big Red with Cornell going 18-for-32 from the stripe while Brown was just 4-for-8. Cornell went 11-for-16 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter to close out the game.
ABOUT CORNELL
Cornell is 7-12 overall and 2-6 in Ivy League play having lost its last two games. The Big Red lost road games to Princeton and Penn since beating Brown on Jan. 29.
Theresa Grace Mbanefo leads the team with 11.3 points per game and 7.7 rebounds per game while shooting .497 from the field.
