CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. – Ryan Bottrill was named the ECAC Rookie of the Week after collecting five points in three games for the Bears. The conference announced the weekly honors earlier today.
The Chandler, Arizona native entered the week with a two-game point streak and pushed it to five following last night's game on Long Island. Bottrill picked up an assist against Boston College (Nov. 29) and scored a power play goal in Brown's 5-1 win against LIU on Saturday (Dec. 3).
Last night, Bottrill collected a career-high three points with a goal and two assists against the Sharks. He assisted on Brown's first two goals before adding his fifth of the season for the three-point night.
Bottrill leads the team in goals (5) and points (11) and ranks second on the team with six assists, trailing Jackson Munro (7). He is one of 12 Bears with a plus-rating through 13 games.
Among freshmen in the ECAC, Bottrill ranks second in goals, third in points, and tied for fifth in assists.
Brown closes the first half of the season next weekend on the road in a return to ECAC conference play.
