Mathieu Caron Named ECAC Goaltender of the Week

CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. – Brown sophomore goaltender Mathieu Caron has been named the ECAC Goaltender of the Week for the first time this season and second time in his career.
Caron backstopped Brown to a pair of non-conference wins over the weekend, beginning with a 3-0 shutout against Holy Cross (Nov. 25) and a 3-2 road win over eighth-ranked Providence (Nov. 26).
The Abbottsford, British Columbia native recorded 24 saves in Brown's win over Holy Cross on Friday. Caron recorded 13 saves in the third period to preserve the shutout win.
On Saturday, Caron was stellar and finished the night with 35 saves against the high-powered Friar offense. He recorded 17 saves in the third period for the victory.
Through 10 games this season, Caron holds a .924 save percentage and 2.48 goals against average. His save percentage ranks fourth in the ECAC and 15th in the NCAA.
Caron earned Goalie of the Week honors in December 2021 following consecutive shutouts over Dartmouth and Harvard.
