Women's basketball hosts Monmouth on Friday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown women's basketball will host Monmouth on Friday, Nov. 25 with tip-off at 2 p.m. at the Pizzitola Sports Center.
The matchup between the two 3-2 teams will be streamed on ESPN+ and fans can listen to the game on the Varsity Network. The game is Brown's Black Friday game and all tickets will be $5.
ABOUT BROWN
- The Bears had a historic outing against UMass Lowell in their last game. The Bears scored 36 points in the third quarter, the most for Brown since women's basketball moved to playing quarters in the 2015-16 season. The Bears started the third quarter on a 19-0 run and had a 21-0 run overall to come back against the River Hawks.
- Brown swept the Ivy League weekly awards with Kyla Jones being named Player of the Week and Grace Arnolie being named Rookie of the Week. Jones became the first Bear to win Player of the Week since 2019 and Arnolie was the second-straight Bear to win Rookie of the Week (Mackenzie Leahy).
- Brown won its third-straight game with the win over UMass Lowell. It was the first time since 2019 that Brown has won three games in a row.
- After having beaten UMass Lowell in the first meeting between the two teams, Brown will face off against another unknown opponent. The Bears will be playing Monmouth for just the second time with the first meeting coming back in 2010.
- Brown dominated Sacred Heart, picking up a 21-point win over the Pioneers the last time the Bears took the court. Brown's defense put in a historic effort as both the points allowed (35) and shooting percentage allowed (19.7%) are the best numbers Brown has allowed in a game against a Division I opponent since at least 2010-11.
- The Bears defense is tops in the Ivy League in scoring defense (58.4), field goal percentage defense (33.9), blocked shots (5.6), steals (11.0) and defensive rebounds per game (29.6).
ABOUT MONMOUTH
- Monmouth is 3-2 on the season and is coming off a 76-56 win at Navy on Tuesday (Nov. 22). The Hawks shot a season-high 55 percent from the field and 48 percent from three against Navy.
- The Hawks have three double-figure scorers, led by Bri Tinsley with 14.0 per game. Lucy Thomas is second on the team (13.8) and Kaci Donovan is third (10.4).
- Tinsley leads the team with 22 assists and Thomas leads the team with 6.6 rebounds per game.
INSIDE THE SERIES
This will be the second time Brown has faced Monmouth. The first meeting came in 2010 with Brown earning a 75-71 victory.
