Men's basketball downs New Haven, opens season next Monday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown men's basketball team defeated New Haven in an exhibition 74-66 Wednesday evening at the PIzzitola Sports Center.
Despite trailing by one at the half, the Bears battled back in the second frame to secure the eight-point victory.
Brown's starting five consisted of Paxson Wojcik, Dan Friday, Kino Lilly Jr., Aaron Cooley, and Nana Owusu-Anane. Wojcik led the team with 19 points on a 5-for-7 shooting performance, including going 4-for-6 from three. Owusu-Anane posted a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Friday also reached double figures with 10 points.
Off the bench, Kalu Anya had 10 points and four boards. Perry Cowan had eight points, while Kimo Ferrari had six. Cowan and Ferrari also led the team with identical +16s.

The Bears open their regular season next Monday, Nov. 7 at 7 p.m. at Vermont.
