Men’s Basketball Falls to Penn in Season Finale

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Brown men's basketball team (9-18, 3-11) fell 82-61 in its season finale to Penn (16-11, 9-5) on Friday evening inside the Pizzitola Sports Center.
Landon Lewis concluded his career with his fifth-ever double-double as he finished with 12 points and 11 rebounds on 5-7 shooting from the floor. Luke Paragon finished with 10 points on 3-5 shooting from the floor and 2-3 shooting from beyond the arc.
Penn opened the game on a 20-6 run and led by as much as 18 in the first half behind 15-33 shooting from the field. The Bears outrebounded Penn 22-19 in the opening 20 minutes, Lewis scored a team-high 10 points to go along with a game-high seven first half rebounds.
Offensively, Brown shot 13-29 from the floor and 4-12 from beyond the arc, a Luke Paragon three-pointer as time expired cut the Penn lead to 44-34 entering the second half.
In a back-and-forth start to the second half, Brown cut Penn's lead to five on three separate occasions through the first six minutes. The last time the Bears cut the Quakers' lead was with 14:06 remaining with the score 50-45, Penn went on to outscore Brown 32-17 to earn the victory.
Paragon led the way for Brown with seven second half points on 2-2 shooting from the floor. As a team, the Bears shot 11-25 from the floor in the final 20 minutes and had assists on 10 of their 11 made field goals.
