Water polo downed by Santa Clara to close out the weekend

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Brown men's water polo fell in its final game of the Julian Fraser Memorial Tournament, 13-8, to Santa Clara on Sunday. Ben Kirshon led the way for Brown with three goals.
Behind Kirshon, Connor Enright and Ilias Stothart each had two goals and Filip Aleksic also found the net.
Brown fell behind 4-0 in the first quarter with Enright scoring Brown's first goal early in the second. Aleksic scored with just over two minutes left to play and Stothart scored with 1:20 left on the clock to make it a 6-3 game at halftime.
Santa Clara scored three-straight to start the second half to push the lead to six. Kirshon scored all three of his goals during the third quarter but Brown was down 11-6 after the third.
Brown's two goals in the fourth came from Enright and Stothart but Santa Clara matched Brown with two goals for the five-goal win.
UP NEXT
Brown will be on the road next weekend with games at MIT and Harvard on Saturday as NWPC play picks back up.
