Bears Battle, but Fall in Friday Night Showdown at No. 10 Harvard

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Brown women's hockey team jumped on the board first early in the opening minutes of action on Friday evening, but No. 10 Harvard followed with five unanswered goals the rest of the way for a 5-1 win.
Playing with just 13 healthy skaters, a shorthanded Brown squad fought hard in the contest and controlled the pace of play early, scoring the game's first goal just over six minutes in.
"We played so hard," head coach Melanie Ruzzi said. "The score is not even close to indicative of how the game was played. With just four defensemen, two of whom are forwards, our women stepped up in a huge way. I really couldn't be prouder of this group."
