Women’s Hockey Starts Four Game Homestand this Friday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown women's hockey team will return to home ice this weekend to kick off a four-game homestand, beginning with ECAC foes Cornell on Friday at 6 p.m., and No. 6 Colgate on Saturday at 3 p.m.
Both games will be streamed live on ESPN+, with an international stream available through Stretch Internet. Admission is free and all spectators will have to adhere to a mask requirement.
The Bears will be meeting both Colgate and Cornell for the second time this season. The Brown and Cornell skated to a 3-3 tie back on Nov. 6 when the Big Red was receiving votes in the national polls.

SCOUTING BROWN (2-14-2, 2-8-1 ECAC)
- The Bears will reload this weekend after competing with 13 healthy skaters last Friday at Harvard.
- Brown controlled the pace of play early, scoring first for the fourth time in its last six games. Brown also held the 10th-ranked Crimson to just four shots over the final 20 minutes.
- Sophomore Maya Mangiafico picked up her third assist of the season and now has six points.
- Senior forward Shay Maloney leads the team with 10 points, and has registered at least one point in three of the last five games.
- Sophomore Cassidy Piersiak picked up her fifth assist of the season of the season at Harvard, moving her into a tie for the team lead in that category.
SCOUTING CORNELL (6-7-1, 4-4-1 ECAC)
- The Big Red enter this weekend following a 10-day layoff and riding a two-game winning streak, blanking Dartmouth 5-0 on Jan. 8 and taking down Penn State 6-1 on the road on Jan. 11.
- Cornell picked up a win over a ranked team on Nov. 20 when they earned a 2-0 win over No. 10 Princeton.
- The Big Red are even in scoring margin, scoring and allowing 2.5 goals per contest, while converting on 15.9 percent of their power plays.
- Junior forward Gillis Frechette leads the team with 16 points (6g, 10a).
- Izzy Daniel leads the squad with 12 assists and a plus/minus of plus-10.
- Lily Delianedis holds a team-leading eight goals and ranks third with 14 points.
SCOUTING COLGATE (17-4-1, 7-2-1 ECAC)
- Ranked No. 6 in both national polls for the sixth straight week, Colgate has won four games in a row, including consecutive 2-1 wins over Boston College and No. 3 Minnesota at the Smashville NCAA Showcase in Nashville in late December.
- The Raiders will play at No. 10 Yale for a big top 10 showdown on Friday before heading up Interstate 95 to Providence on Saturday.
- Danielle Serdachny leads the way with 34 points, which ranks tied for sixth in the nation. Her 23 assists are tied for third-most nationally. Both categories lead the ECAC.
- Kalty Kaltounkova is tied for eighth nationally in both assists (18) and points (32).
- Kaltounkova and Dara Greig are tied for the team lead with 14 goals apiece.
- Kayla Osborne and Hannah Murphy lead Raiders between the pipes, with Osborne boasting a 10-3-1 record and a 2.00 GAA and .906 save percentage. Murphy has made eight starts, going 7-1 with a 1.75 GAA.
