TOKYO, JAPAN - Alex Miklasevich '19 is one of two former members of the Brown University Men's Crew team that will be competing in the upcoming Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. Miklasevich will be joined by his former teammate at Brown - Anders Weiss '16 rowing for Team U.S.A..
Miklasevich spent the majority of his collegiate career rowing in the seventh seat of the varsity boat at Brown and had success at both the Eastern Sprints and the IRA National Championship. At the Olympics, he will row in the men's eight.
"Alex was truly one of the most talented and most physically gifted rowers that we have had," said Brown Men's Crew head coach Paul Cooke '89. "He just brings every tool to the table when it comes to rowing and racing. "He was a captain for us," Cooke added. "He was a leader. He just represented excellence overall and represented this program so well. He is one of those guys that doesn't come around very often."
Hailing from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Miklasevich attended Central Catholic High School. There he achieved one of his proudest accomplishments winning the SRAA Championships in the Varsity Eight in 2013.
