
Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month 2021: Gloria Chun ’12, Women’s Soccer

Throughout the month of May, Brown Athletics will celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month through a series of profiles. Over the course of the month, the Bears will recognize Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders who have made an impact on the university community and beyond.
Gloria Chun '12, Women's Soccer
A two-time All-Ivy honoree as a defender, Gloria Chun '12 earned Second Team All-Ivy accolades in 2011 and Honorable Mention All-Ivy laurels in 2010. As a senior, she helped lead a Bears back line that allowed just 14 goals on the season and tallied seven shutouts, finishing the year with a +10 goal differential. In 2011, Chun helped Brown post a 10-5-2 overall record – its first 10-win campaign since 2003 – and a 3-3-1 Ivy League mark. Overall, she aided the Bears to a 29-26-11 record from 2008-11. For her career, Chun played in 53 games with 41 starts, making starts in the final 33 games of her career over her junior and senior seasons. Chun also competed with the Bears during their 2011 European Tour through France, Italy, Germany, and Switzerland. A Human Biology concentrator at Brown, she went on to earn a degree as a Physician Assistant from the Duke University School of Medicine in 2020.
