Brown University athletics will be recognizing its spring senior student-athletes throughout the months of March, April, May and June. Senior student-athletes will be featured during the week on Brownbears.com and various social media platforms.
Name: Matt McShea
Hometown: Winnetka, Ill.
Sport: Men's Lacrosse
Concentration: Applied Mathematics-Economics
Plans after graduation:
After graduation I will be moving on to Investment Banking in New York while I tune in every Saturday in the spring to cheer on the Bears' revenge tour across the Ivy League.
The best part of being on your team is:
The best part of being on our team is getting to spend time with the guys on the team. Everyone is different and has so much to offer, which always keeps things fun and interesting.
Favorite spot on campus:
My favorite spot on campus is Stevenson-Pincince field, especially after the new Center for Lacrosse and Soccer was built as a place we can spend time in the locker room, at the trainers, or overlooking the field in a study space. Close runner-up is the Vdub back when we would have team family dinners every night after practice.
Most memorable game:
My most memorable game was the last game we played, our junior year against the University of Virginia, the defending national champions. After going down in the first half we came back for a wild comeback and set the tone for what would have been a dominant season.
