NEW BRITAIN, CONN. – The Brown men's soccer team claimed its third straight victory with a 2-0 win over Central Connecticut Wednesday night. Owen Schwartz and Kojo Dadzie both registered goals for the Bears in the team's second shutout in as many games.
"It was a really good effort tonight in a midweek away game," head coach Patrick Laughlin said. "We felt that the players really rose to the occasion and did a good job controlling the game, moving the ball, and getting the important goals.
"We're excited to get back to work and are looking forward to Yale this weekend."
Schwartz got the scoring started in just the sixth minute of action when Brown earned a pair of corners. On the second attempt, Charlie Adams sent in a high, looping kick that Schwartz elevated for and headed home.
Dadzie would double the lead in the 68th minute when he converted on the rebound from an Alex Mina shot and save.
Shots on the night ended up being closer than they felt, with the Bears holding the 10-7 advantage, with an 8-4 edge in shots on goal. Max Waldau made four saves in goal for his third shutout of the season.
Brown will return to Ivy League action this Saturday, Nov. 6 at 4 p.m. when the Bears hit the road for a matchup at Yale.
