
Women's basketball at Vermont tournament over the weekend

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown women's basketball will spend the weekend at the TD Bank Classic, hosted by the University of Vermont with games on Saturday (Nov. 27) and Sunday (Nov. 28). The weekend begins for the Bears with a game against Vermont on Saturday at Noon.

- Brown earned a 72-68 win at Hartford on Tuesday (Nov. 23) as Mya Murray had a career-game for the Bears.
- Murray finished the game with her first 20-point game of her career, scoring 21 points on 9-for-10 shooting, including going 2-for-2 from three-point range. Murray also pulled down six rebounds and finished with five blocks for the second-straight game.
- Murray sits on top of the Ivy League with a .583 shooting percentage and is tied for the league lead with 14 blocks on the year.
- Isabella Mauricio tied for second on the team in scoring with 15 points, hitting five threes and distributing a career-best eight assists. Mauricio is second in the Ivy League with 2.8 threes made per game and has made 17 threes this season.
- Charlotte Jewell scored 15 points for the Bears and added four assists. Jewell went 5-for-6 from the free throw line, including hitting two free throws with less than one second on the clock to secure the win for the Bears.
- Kyla Jones filled the stat sheet for Brown with nine points, five rebounds, five steals and four assists. Jones leads the Ivy League with 21 steals, averaging a league-best 3.5 steals per game
- Amanda Latkany scored nine points and pulled down four rebounds. Latkany also added two assists and two steals.
- Chantal Nadia had a strong game on the boards for the Bears with six rebounds, tying for the team lead off the bench.
- Brown beat the Hawks with a strong shooting performance in the second half. The Bears shot over 50 percent from the floor over the last two quarters and Brown was 6-for-9 from three-point range in the third quarter. The Bears began the third quarter going 5-for-6 from deep.
- Vermont is on a three-game losing streak and has not played since a 55-51 loss at Navy on Saturday (Nov. 20).
- The Catamounts have not played at home since the season opener on Nov. 9. Vermont beat Merrimack 87-57 to begin the season.
- Anna Olson leads Vermont with 13.5 points per game, 7.8 rebounds per game and has a team-high nine blocks.
- Josie Larkins is second on the team in scoring at 10.0 points per game. Emma Utterback leads the team with 14 assists and is scoring 7.5 points per game.
- Vermont has outscored its opponents 249-247 this season but the second half has been a tale of two quarters for the Catamounts. Vermont has come out hot after halftime, outscoring opponents 71-47 but the Catamounts have been outscored 76-46 in the final ten minutes of the game.
- Brown will take on either Bucknell or North Dakota on Sunday (Nov. 28) depending on the outcome of the game against Vermont.
