PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown men's soccer team lost to Princeton 3-1 Saturday night at Stevenson-Pincince Field.
The Bears got off to a good start, taking a 1-0 lead in the first half, but the Tigers used three second-half goals to earn their second Ivy road win of the season.
"It was a typical, tough Ivy game," head coach Patrick Laughlin said. "The guys are together and committed, and in the end, its just one game. We've got five more opportunities to play in the league. Anything can happen over the next five games. We're looking forward to continue competing and going for it."
Kojo Dadzie opened the scoring in the 31st minute when Will Crain sent a laser of a cross through the box that made it all the way to Dadzie at the back post. All the sophomore had to do was deflect it off the post and into the net.
Princeton would tie things in the 55th minute when Lucas Gen headed in a long, looping corner. The Tigers would then take the lead in the 63rd minute when Daniel Diaz Bonilla curled a left-footed shot into the bottom left corner of the net from the edge of the 18.
Princeton added a third goal late in the second half to put things out of reach.
"The biggest thing is we've got to take of our bodies right now," Laughlin said. "We've got a game on Tuesday, that's the game that matters right now."
The Bears are back in action this Tuesday, Oct. 12 at 6 p.m. at Northeastern before resuming Ivy League action on the road on Oct. 16 at Harvard.
