Water polo set to take on MIT and Harvard on Saturday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Coming off a win over Iona last weekend, Brown men's water polo stays on the road for two matches on Saturday, Oct. 9. The Bears will take on MIT and Harvard as NWPC play continues.
The first match of the weekend will be against MIT and begin at 11 a.m. The Bears will then conclude the day against the Crimson at 4 p.m. and the match will be streamed on ESPN+.

- Brown split its first two conference games last weekend with a win against Iona and a loss at Princeton.
- This will be the second time Brown has played both MIT and Harvard. The Bears beat MIT 16-8 on Sept. 25 and lost to Harvard 7-10 on Sept. 18.
- Brown has four 20-goal scorers this season with Connor Enright leading the way at 27 goals. Leo Berkman has 23 goals on the year and Filip Aleksic and Cole Atwell each have 21. Ben Kirhson is next on the team with 19 goals.
- Aleksic leads the team with 21 assists.
- On defense, Evan Moore is tops on the team with 15 steals.
- In goal, Ugo Piovan has 81 saves on the year.
- Brown's best quarter has been the second quarter as the Bears have outscored opponents 55-39 in that frame.
- MIT has lost four of its last five games with the lone win being a 13-12 victory at Iona.
- Miller Geschke leads the team with 25 goals and Kyle Sandell has 20 goals for the Engineers. Miller also leads the team with 18 assists on the season.
- Colin Weaver leads the team with 85 saves in goal this season and has allowed just 63 goals.
- Harvard fell to St. Francis Brooklyn but beat No. 9 Princeton to open NWPC play. The Crimson beat Iona in its last match.
- Harvard is led by Andrej Basica's 29 goals and Basica was named NWPC Rookie of the Week last week.
- Noah Hodge earned NWPC Defensive Player of the Week for the second-straight week after a 42-save weekend.
