PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown women's and coed sailing teams each had a top-three finish at events on the weekend of Oct. 16-17. The women took second place at the Atlantic Coast Championship and the coed team came in third at the Savin Hill Invite.
"I am really proud of our women's team and how well they competed this weekend at the Atlantic Coast Championship," head coach John Mollicone said. "The conditions were incredibly tricky and they hung in there until the very end with No. 1 Yale for the overall win."
At the ACC, a fourth-place finish in Division A by Olivia Belda and Madeleine McGrath, combined with a second-place finish in Division B by Caroline Bayless, Nora Ong, and Julia Reynolds gave the Bears second place overall.
At Savin Hill, Jed Bell and Savannah Young came in sixth in Division A and Leyton Borcherding and Lily Shore took third in Division B to combine for the third-place finish overall. The Bears also had a team finish in 10th overall.
The coed team also competed at the Larry White Trophy and came in sixth out of eight teams.
The women will compete at the Yale Women's Interconference on Oct. 23-24, while the coed team will be at the Coed Atlantic Coast Championship and the Oberg Trophy.
