
Women's soccer continues conference action at Columbia

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown women's soccer team will continue Ivy League play this Saturday, Oct. 2 at 3 p.m. on the road against Columbia.
The Bears opened the conference portion of their slate last Sunday with a convincing 4-1 win over Dartmouth. The Lions dropped their first Ivy game 1-0 to Cornell.
The game will be broadcast live on ESPNews. It will also be available digitally on ESPN3. A standard ESPN+ subscription will not have access to coverage of the event.
Scouting the Bears (6-3-0, 1-0-0 IVY):

Scouting the Bears (6-3-0, 1-0-0 IVY):
- Brown won its first Ivy League game of the season for the fourth time in the last five years last week with the victory over the Big Green.
- Brittany Raphino scored two goals and was named the Ivy League Player of the Week for her efforts. She now leads the team with five goals and three assists for 13 points.
- Zoe Maxwell had one goal and one assist against Dartmouth to push her season point total to eight.
- The Bear offense took 20 shots against the Big Green, its highest total since the second game of the season against Holy Cross. The defense only allowed eight shots, the lowest since allowing seven against Notre Dame.
- Columbia's game against Cornell was tied at zero until the 83rd minute when the Big Red found the game-winner. Shots were even at seven for the game.
- The Lions have scored 11 goals this season, good for 1.22 per game. Nata Ramirez and Sophia Cavaliere are tied for the team lead of three goals.
- Paige Nurkin and Audrey Byrne have split time in goal with Nurkin starting six games and Byrne three. Nurkin has posted the better numbers with a .81 goals against average and a .844 save percentage.
- In the all-time series, Brown holds the slight edge at 14-12-7.
- In 2019, the Bears claimed the 2-0 victory with goals from Raphino and Maxwell. Kayla Thompson made three saves in goal.
