Track & Field’s Whelan Named Academic All-District

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Gracie Whelan (Charlotte, N.C.), a rising senior on the Brown women's track & field team, has been selected to the CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team, recently announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

The 2020 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom.

Whelan, a biology concentrator, earned First Team All-Ivy honors during the indoor season when she captured the 400m title at the Ivy League Championship. An Academic All-Ivy selection, Whelan was part of the 4x400m relay team that broke the 29-year old school record at the BU Valentine Invitational earlier in the season.

Honorees selected first-team Academic All-District® will advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. Academic All-America® honorees will be announced from June 22-25.
