
Archie, Jackson Break School Records Again as Brown Completes Ivy Indoor Heps

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Brown track and field closed out the Ivy Indoor Heps on Sunday in New York City as the men placed eighth overall and the women placed seventh overall. Princeton took home both team titles, outlasting second place Penn to claim the Ivy Indoor Heps championship for the 11th straight time on the men's side and the second straight on the women's side.

Impressively, senior Elias Archie and junior Alyssa Jackson broke school records in their respective events for the second time in two days. Archie, who tied the program record in the 60m dash on Saturday, ran a 6.77-second 60m dash in the finals on Sunday to beat his record by .02 seconds and now holds the program record outright. Jackson, who broke her own record on Saturday in the women's 200m dash, shattered it for a third time this season as she placed second overall in the finals, finishing in 23.62 and beating her previous record by .21 seconds.
In total this weekend, Brown's men set six marks that ranked in the top 10 in program history, while the women's team set 12.

WOMEN
Jackson's record breaking dash claimed her second place in the 200m dash. Jackson also ran in the 60m final and finished fifth with a time of 7.49. Freshman Sydney Ruckett placed seventh in the 400m final with a time of 55.33.

Seniors Nimrit Ahuja and Julia Schriefer raced in the mile final. Ahuja claimed fifth place with a time of 4:47.36 and Schriefer placed ninth with a time of 4:55.81. Senior Nene Mokonchu tied for sixth place out of 18 jumpers in the high jump (1.68m).

In the 4000m distance medley relay, Brown's fourth place finish was the third-fastest time in program history at 11:26.84. The team included senior Emily Mrakovcic, freshmen Mia Reaugh, junior Katrina Sortland, and junior Olivia Fraga.

Junior Anna Pollak, freshman Sydney Ruckett, freshman Sarina Parks, and senior Kate Scanlan raced for the Bears in the 4x400m relay, placing seventh overall in 3:45.64, which is the ninth-fastest time in program history.

Archie's 6.77 record breaker in the 60m final placed him fourth. Sophomore Trevor Wilder placed seventh in the 200m final with a time of 21.79. Junior Jake Haley placed seventh in the 800m final with a time of 1:51.95.

Freshman Jaden Stewart placed fourth in the triple jump. His 15.21m jump is the seventh best in program history. Junior Gabriel Liem Thai placed fourth in the Hepthalon with 4,959 points. As part of the heptathlon, Thai cleared 4.70m in the pole vault, tying him for seventh all-time in program history.

In the 4x800m relay, sophomore Nick Strayer, freshman George Christmas, junior Matthew Doherty, and junior Matt Wing placed fourth with a time 7:34.35, now the fifth fastest time in program history. In the 4000m distance medley relay, the team of freshman Benjy Street, junior Jake Haley, sophomore Colin Fisher, and junior Sebastian Margetts placed fifth with a time of 9:50.87, which now is the eighth fastest time in program history.

With the indoor season complete, Brown will turn its attention to the outdoor season and begin preparing for their first meet in three weeks (March 20-21) at the Bob Davidson Memorial Challenge at High Point University.
