Crozier and Stillwell named team captains, Ferrario and Kania tabbed assistant captains
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown men's hockey head coach Brendan Whittet has announced that junior Tristan Crozier (Calgary, Alberta) and senior Tony Stillwell (Green Bay, Wis.) will serve as team captains for the 2020-21 season. In addition, seniors Anea Ferrario (Ogden, Utah) and Luke Kania (Chicago, Ill.) will serve as assistant captains.
"Leadership in our program and our locker room is a key ingredient towards achieving success," Whittet said. "That being said, I am excited to announce a tremendous leadership core for our upcoming season with Tristan Crozier and Tony Stillwell being named captains in addition to Anea Ferrario and Luke Kania being named assistants. They are all very good players but just as important they are extremely hard workers who are determined to lead by example daily. They have a sense of purpose, do everything right and are driven to make this season a memorable one for our program and for Brown University."
Stillwell has been a mainstay on the blue line over the last three seasons and heads into next season with 29 assists and 32 points in 80 career games played. He posted 10 points last season, second on the team in scoring among defensemen, and ranked third on the team in scoring among defensemen as a junior.
Crozier, a forward, has played in 53 career games with 25 points over his first two seasons and most recently led the team in faceoff percentage as a sophomore. He ranked second on the team with 15 assists as a rookie, playing in all 34 games, and was the recipient of the department's First-Year Male Athlete Award.
Stillwell and Crozier will serve as team captains for the first time in their respective careers.
A veteran defenseman, Ferrario has played in 89 games and will wear an "A" for the first time in his career. He led the team in blocked shots as a freshman and heads into next season with 11 career points.
Kania, a senior goalie, will also serve as an assistant captain for the first time in his career. He has started 39 games in net over the last three seasons, including a pair of shutouts, and is a two-time ECAC Goalie of the Week selection.
