PRINCETON, N.J. – Seniors Zach Giuttari (Warwick, R.I.) and Gavin Nieto (Yorba Linda, Calif.) of the Brown men's hockey team both earned Second Team All-Ivy honors, announced by the league office on Wednesday.
Giuttari, the team captain, was named All-Ivy for the second-straight season. The defenseman leads the team with 10 assists and is tied for a team-high 14 points. A versatile player, Giuttari leads the team in power-play points and ranks second on the team in blocked shots. An assistant captain last season, Giuttari heads into the ECAC playoffs with 53 career points.
Nieto earned All-Ivy accolades for the first time in his career. He owns a 2.44 GAA and a .917 save percentage over 25 starts this season, as well as a pair of shutouts, including a 32-save effort at Princeton to close the regular season. Nieto has reached the 30-plus save mark eight times this season and heads into the playoffs with five career shutouts.
