Women's History Month 2020: Donna Neale '86, Women's Track & Field

Throughout the month of March, Brown Athletics will celebrate Women's History Month through a series of profiles. Over the course of the month, the Bears will recognize women who have made an impact on the university community and beyond.
Donna Neale '86, Women's Track & Field
A 1998 inductee into the Brown Athletic Hall of Fame, Donna Neale '86 won five Ivy League Heptagonal titles during her time at Brown. She captured the indoor 400 meters title in both 1983 and 1985, claimed gold in the outdoor 400 meters in both 1983 and 1984, and helped the Bears win the outdoor 4x800-meter relay in 1984. A 1994 NCAA qualifier in the outdoor 800 meters, she held school records in the outdoor 800 meters, outdoor 400 meters, 4x800-meter indoor relay, and distance medley relay at the time of her graduation. A captain for the Bears as a senior, Neale also competed in soccer at Brown. After graduation, Neale went on to earn her M.D. from Boston University School of Medicine. She completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Georgetown University Hospital prior to taking part in a fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at Yale University School of Medicine. Neale is now an Assistant Professor of Gynecology and Obstetrics at Johns Hopkins and the Director for the Center for Maternal and Fetal Medicine at Howard County General Hospital.
