
Women’s Hockey Wraps Up Season on the Road at No. 6 Princeton and No. 10 Quinnipiac

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown women's hockey team will close out the 2019-20 season on the road at No. 6 Princeton on Friday, Feb. 21 at 6:00 p.m. and at No. 10 Quinnipiac on Saturday, Feb. 22 beginning at 3:00 p.m.

SCOUTING THE TIGERS
Princeton ranks sixth in both the USCHO.com and the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine polls and leads the ECAC in power-play percentage (.204) while ranking second in goals per game (3.62). The team's power play also ranks sixth in the nation. The Tigers split last weekend with a 4-0 win at St. Lawrence on Feb. 14 followed by a 2-1 loss at No. 6 Clarkson. Sarah Fillier leads the team in scoring with 16 goals and 27 assists for 43 points. She is third in the country in assists per game (1.13) while she is second in the conference in points and third in assists. Carly Bullock is second on the team in scoring with 21 goals and 17 assists for 38 points. Her 21 goals are third in the nation and second-best in the ECAC while her points are also third in the league. Maggie Conners has also been a steady contributor and is fourth in the league in points (18-18-36). Goaltending duties have been split for Princeton, with Steph Neatby appearing in 14 games with a 2.12 goals-against average, a .917 save percentage and two shutouts, and Rachel McQuigge appearing in 11 contests with a 1.53 GAA, a .931 save percentage and three shutouts. McQuigge is third in ECAC in GAA (fifth in the nation) and fourth in save percentage.

Quinnipiac enters the weekend ranked 10th in both the USCHO.com and the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine polls and will host Yale on Friday prior to welcoming the Bears. The Bobcats went 1-1-0 last weekend with a 2-1 win over No. 6 Clarkson on Feb. 14 and a 3-2 loss at St. Lawrence the following day (Feb. 15). Lexie Adzija leads the team in scoring with 11 goals and a team-high 17 assists for 28 points. Sarah-Ève Coutu-Godbout is Quinnipiac's second leading scorer with 20 points on a squad-best 13 goals and seven assists. Abbie Ives has seen the majority of action in between the pipes with 28 games played, a 1.78 goals-against average, a .930 save percentage and three shutouts. Logan Angers has appeared in four games and has a 1.01 GAA, a .940 save percentage and two shutouts.
BROWN TALKING POINTS
Sophomore Shay Maloney leads the Bears in points (12) with six goals and six assists. Senior Maybelline Beiring is second in scoring with nine points on one goal and a team-best eight assists. Sophomore Tina Paolillo (6-2-8), sophomore Lizzy Gross (3-5-8) and junior Megan Forrest (3-5-8) are all tied for third in scoring, with Paolillo and Maloney sharing the team's goal lead (6). Calla Isaac leads the netminding group in games played (21) and a .911 save percentage. The Sherwood Park, Alberta native stopped a career-best 55 shots at Harvard on Nov. 1 and has recorded two shutouts this season (2-0 at RPI, 35 saves; 1-0 vs. Saint Anselm, 25 saves). Isaac has recorded 40 or more saves seven times this season and had gone over 30 stops in 16 contests. Sophomore Hayley Kliczko has appeared in eight games between the pipes and registered a season-high 39 saves at Dartmouth on Nov. 2.
LAST TIME OUT
Brown went 0-2-0 last weekend, falling to top-ranked Cornell, 4-0, on Friday while dropping a 6-2 decision to Colgate on Saturday. The Big Red scored twice in both the first and second period to defeat the Bears in the first game of the weekend. Senior Calla Isaac led Brown with 45 saves while the Bears' penalty kill went 6-for-6 in the contest. In game two versus the Raiders, sophomore Tina Paolillo and junior Megan Forrest did the scoring for the Bears in the second and third period, respectively.
THIS SEASON VS. PRINCETON
Brown fell to No. 6 Princeton, 4-1, on Feb. 1 at Meehan Auditorium. Sophomore Tina Paolillo scored the game's first goal before the Tigers tacked on three in the opening period. The Bears limited sixth ranked Princeton to just one goal through the final two periods and outshot the visitors 11-8 in the second stanza. Senior Calla Isaac concluded the contest with 35 saves while Princeton was led by Carly Bullock who contributed two goals.
THIS SEASON VS. QUINNIPIAC
Brown was defeated by Quinnipiac, 3-1, on Jan. 31 in Providence. Sophomore Tina Paolillo cut the Bears' deficit to one with her goal at 6:48 of the third period but the Bobcats would put the game out of reach with a score at 17:28. Senior Calla Isaac ended the night with 29 saves for Brown. Quinnipiac was led by Kati Tabin, Taylor House and Taylor Girard who all registered a goal and an assist while Abbie Ives stopped 17 shots in the Bobcat net.
PENALTY KILL STREAK
Brown recently went five-straight games without surrendering a power-play goal, going a combined 19-for-19 on the penalty kill. The streak started with a two-game series against Saint Anselm (Jan. 24-25) where Brown went 10-for-10 over the two-game stretch. The Bears then went 4-for-4 versus Yale (Jan. 28), 2-for-2 against Quinnipiac (Jan. 31) and 3-for-3 versus No. 6 Princeton (Feb. 1), the ECAC leader in power-play percentage (.232 - 5th in the nation). No. 7 Clarkson ended the streak on Feb. 7. Brown is 32-for-34 over its last nine games on the penalty kill.
