PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown men's ice hockey team is listed under receiving votes in the preseason United States College Hockey Online (USCHO) and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine College Hockey polls for the 2019-20 season, released by the organizations on Monday.
Brown is one of seven ECAC schools receiving votes in the national rankings for the upcoming season. The Bears will play against seven teams listed in the USCHO top-20 rankings during the 2019-20 season, including national championship runner up UMass.
The Bears bring back four of their top five scorers from a season ago, including senior captain Zach Giuttari who earned Honorable Mention All-Ivy honors in 2018-19. Senior Brent Beaudoin also returns as the team's third leading scorer from last season (8-11-19) and will dress as an assistant captain with fellow senior Jack Gessert. The Bears also add 10 talented rookies to the mix, made up of six forwards and four defensemen.
Brown will kick off the 2019-20 season on Friday, Nov. 1 at Yale (7:00 p.m.) before hosting the Bulldogs on Saturday, Nov. 2 (7:00 p.m.) at Meehan Auditorium.
Video of all home contests and all Ivy League games, home and away, will be broadcast live on ESPN+. Fans can subscribe and view games by purchasing a monthly package for $4.99 or a yearly package for $49.99.
