Bears capture top three spots in the long jump
PRINCETON, N.J. – The Brown University women's track & field team is currently in third place with 24 points after the first day of the Ivy League Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Princeton's Weaver Stadium.
The Bears claimed the top three spots in the long jump, led by Zion Lewis (Canton, Ga.), who secured the Ivy title with a personal-best leap of 20-1.5 for third all-time in program history. Ijeoma Uche (Lawrenceville, Ga.) was right behind in second place at 20-0.5 and Rachel McMahon (New York, N.Y.) captured third with a mark of 19-6.
May Stern (Providence, R.I.) was fifth in the prelims of the 400 meters at 55.59 to qualify for the finals.
Senior Carly Paul (Fort Collins, Colo.) is currently in second place in the heptathlon with 3164 points after four events, trailing only Beatrice Juskeviciute of Cornell, highlighted by a win in the high jump at 5-8.5.
