3/4/2019 10:05:00 AM | Women's Track & Field
BOSTON – Ijeoma Uche (Lawrenceville, Ga.) of the Brown women's track & field team captured an individual victory in the long jump at the ECAC Championship over the weekend at the BU Track & Tennis Center.
Â
The sophomore wrapped up her impressive indoor season in the long jump as she topped the field of 26 jumpers with a winning leap of 19-10.25.
Â
"Ijeoma beat a strong field today to complete an undefeated season--something really rare and difficult," said head coach Tim Springfield. "She also went over six meters in each of the last four meets. Tremendous season. And I know that even bigger things are in store for her outdoors."
Â
Uche captured the Ivy League long jump title last weekend at 19-11.75, which was ninth all-time in meet history. She set the school record in the event earlier in the season at the New England Championship with a winning leap of 20-3.00 on her second jump, becoming the first long jumper in school history to break 20 feet.
