
Women’s Hockey Hosts No. 5 Princeton and Quinnipiac

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown women's hockey team returns to Meehan Auditorium and will close out the season series with No. 5 Princeton and Quinnipiac on Friday, Feb. 8 and Saturday, Feb. 9, respectively. Friday's game against the Tigers will begin at 6:00 p.m. while Saturday's contest will start at 3:00 p.m.

SCOUTING THE BIG TIGERS
Princeton enters the weekend ranked fifth in both the USCHO.com and the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine polls. The Tigers split last weekend with a 4-3 overtime win against St. Lawrence on Friday and a 3-1 loss to then No. 5 Clarkson on Saturday. Prior to the loss against the Golden Knights, Princeton had not lost in 20 games, going 15-0-5, with its last defeat at No. 2 Wisconsin on Oct. 21. Sarah Fillier leads the team in points with 38, which ranks fifth in the ECAC, with 14 goals and a team-high 24 assists. Maggie Connors leads the squad in goals with 17, which is fourth in the conference, and also has 11 helpers to total 28 points, third highest on the team. Rachel McQuigge has started 16 games between the pipes and has a 1.72 goals-against average (second in ECAC), a .933 save percentage and two shutouts for a 9-3-4 record. Princeton is third in the ECAC in goals scored (83) and assists (129), sitting behind Clarkson (110G, 182A) and Colgate (97G, 149A), who have each played five more games. The Tigers lead the league in power-play goals (25) and power-play percentage (26.3).
SCOUTING THE BOBCATS
Quinnipiac is coming off of back-to-back one-goal losses last week to No. 5 Clarkson (3-2, Friday) and St. Lawrence (5-4, Saturday). Melissa Samoskevich leads the Bobcats in goals (9) and shares the team's lead in points with MacKenzie Lancaster with 16. Lancaster has a team-high 13 assists. Abbie Ives has started 25 games in goal and has a 2.00 goals-against average, a .921 save percentage and four shutouts for a 9-13-3 record. As a team, Quinnipiac is second in the ECAC in both the penalty kill (86.8) and power-play goals allowed (9).
BROWN LEADERS
Sena Hanson leads the Bears in scoring with 16 points on a team-best 12 goals and four assists. Freshman Shay Maloney (3-10-13) is second on the team in scoring while sophomore Kaitijane Blumberg (4-6-10) ranks third. Maloney paces the Bears in assists with 10. Junior Calla Isaac leads the netminder group in goals-against average (3.54), save percentage (.907), shutouts (1) and starts (11). The Sherwood Park, Alberta native tied her season-high of 40 saves on Jan. 18 in a 3-3 tie at St. Lawrence. Freshman Hayley Kliczko has also seen a fair share of time in net with 10 starts and has a 3.63 GAA and a .894 save percentage. The rookie recorded a career best 46 saves at Harvard last weekend (Feb. 2).
