
Women’s Lacrosse Opens Ivy Play at Dartmouth

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown women's lacrosse team will open Ivy League play on Saturday, March 2 at Dartmouth starting at 1:00 p.m. on ESPN+.

BEAR LEADERS
Sophomore Risa Mosenthal leads the Bears in both goals and points with 16 goals and three assists on the year for 19 points. Mosenthal currently leads the nation in goals per game (5.33) while she is also fifth in points per game (6.33). Sophomore Maggie Fowler ranks second in the scoring column with six goals and four assists for 10 points. Defensively, sophomore Mason Warble has a team-best eight caused turnovers. Senior Caroline Zaffino leads Brown in draw controls with 20, and tied her career high of 10 at Iona on Feb. 23. In net, Erin Tucker has started all three games and has put together a 9.44 goals-against average and a .490 save percentage.
LAST TIME OUT
Brown defeated Iona, 14-6, on Saturday, Feb. 23. After the game was tied 2-2 early on, the Bears never looked back and went on a four-goal run to take a 6-2 lead en route to their victory. Six Bears recorded multiple points, with sophomore Maggie Fowler leading the way with three goals and three assists for a career-high six points, while eight total players registered a point. Senior Caroline Zaffino tied her career high of 10 draw controls while adding two goals and an assist. Sophomore Mason Warble led the defense, notching a career-best five caused turnovers.
ALL-TIME VS. DARTMOUTH
The Big Green hold the series advantage with a 30-13 record. Brown won the last meeting between the two teams, a 17-13 victory at Stevenson-Pincince Field on April 28. Dartmouth's last win was in 2017 on its home field, 12-8 (April 29).
SCOUTING THE BIG GREEN
Dartmouth is 1-3 on the season and most recently fell to top-ranked Boston College on Wednesday, 20-10. The Big Green's lone win on the season came last weekend, Feb. 24, against Binghamton (19-6). Saturday's game will be Dartmouth's first home contest. Kierra Sweeney leads the team in scoring with 12 goals and three assists for 15 points. Elizabeth Mastrio ranks second with eight goals and four helpers for 12 points. Kiera Vrindten has started all four games in net and has a 14.74 GAA and a .345 save percentage.
