HANOVER, N.H. – The Brown women's lacrosse team was defeated by Dartmouth, 15-11, in its Ivy League opener on Saturday afternoon at Scully-Fahey Field. The Big Green jumped out to an 8-5 advantage after the first half and led by as many as seven in the second while fighting off a late Bear comeback for the victory.
"Both teams battled today," said head coach Keely McDonald. "I like how hard we worked all game and we had an outstanding defensive effort. We need to hone in on some small areas of our game and get after it this week."
Dartmouth (2-3, 1-0 Ivy League) took a 8-5 halftime lead behind an 11-3 advantage in draw controls and a 7-1 lead in free position shots, converting on three while Brown (2-1, 0-1 Ivy League) was shutout.
