
Women’s Hockey Hosts Dartmouth and Harvard to Close First Half of Season

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown women's hockey team will close out the first half of the season on home ice, welcoming Dartmouth and Harvard to Meehan Auditorium on Friday, Dec. 6 (6:00 p.m.) and Saturday, Dec. 7 (3:00 p.m.), respectively.

SCOUTING THE BIG GREEN
Dartmouth most recently split a series against Maine - dropping the first game 6-1 before winning the finale, 5-2 - and stands 3-6-1 on the season and 1-3-1 in the ECAC. CC Bowlby leads the team in scoring with eight points on four goals and four assists. Gabby Billing in second in scoring with seven points, trying for the squad-lead in assists (5) with Lotti Odnoga while also contributing two goals. Hannah Humphreys has started all 10 games in net for the Big Green and has a 2.87 goals-against average and a .893 save percentage.
SCOUTING THE CRIMSON
Harvard has lost four-straight, all non-conference games against three teams currently ranked in the top 10 in the national polls. The Crimson opened the year 5-0, all ECAC wins. Harvard lost two last weekend against No. 2 Wisconsin, 5-1 (Nov. 29) and No. 1 Minnesota, 4-0 (Nov. 30) in the Country Classic in Nashville, Tenn. Anne Bloomer (7-3-10) and Becca Gilmore (2-8-10) share the squad's lead in scoring with Anne carrying the team-high in goals while Gilmore paces the Crimson in assists. Lindsay Reed leads the goaltending unit in games played (8) and has a 3.39 goals-against average and a .902 save percentage. Beth Larcom has appeared in one game, against Brown, and has a 1.00 GAA and a .929 save percentage.
BROWN TALKING POINTS
Sophomore Shay Maloney leads the team in scoring this season with four goals and two assists for six points. Juniors Darby Melia (3-1-4) and Megan Forrest (1-3-4) are second on the team in scoring with four points apiece. Calla Isaac leads the netminding group with nine games played and a .900 save percentage. The Sherwood Park, Alberta native stopped a career-best 55 shots at Harvard on Nov. 1 and turned away 31 shots in a 2-1 win over RPI on Nov. 8. She has recorded 40 or more saves three times this season and had gone over 30 stops in six contests.
THIS SEASON VS. DARTMOUTH
After coming back to force overtime, Brown fell on the road at Dartmouth, 3-2, on Nov. 2 at Thompson Arena. Sophomore Shay Maloney tied the contest with a power-play goal in the third, but Dartmouth's Celine Pietraszek would connect on the game winner 54 seconds into the extra period. Neither team scored in the first period while the Bears' split up both of its goals in the second and third periods. The Big Green recorded two tallies in the second in addition to the overtime game winner. Junior Darby Melia scored Brown's first goal of the contest in the second period while sophomore Hayley Kliczko concluded the matchup with 39 saves.
THIS SEASON VS. HARVARD
Despite a career-high 55 saves from senior Calla Isaac, Brown fell to Harvard, 4-1, to open ECAC play on Nov. 1 at The Bright-Landry Hockey Center. The Bears held the Crimson scoreless in the second period, aided by 20 saves by Isaac, and entered the third period trailing by just one (2-1). Sophomore Shay Maloney produced the lone score for Brown. Anne Bloomer led Harvard with two goals, the game's first and last scores.
