Nieto Named ECAC Goalie of the Week

ALBANY, N.Y. – After an impressive opening weekend, senior Gavin Nieto (Yorba Linda, Calif.) of the Brown men's hockey team has been named the ECAC MAC Goaltending Goalie of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday.

Nieto backstopped Brown to a split in the home-and-home series with Yale, including a 5-1 victory in the home opener. He led all ECAC goalies with 57 saves over the weekend and posted a .934 save percentage and a 2.03 GAA in the pair of games. Nieto also made 33 stops in the season opener at Yale on Friday.

This is the second ECAC Goalie of the Week honor for Nieto in his career.

Brown will hit the road for a pair of league games at Cornell and Colgate this weekend.

Video of all home contests and most ECAC games, home and away, will be broadcast live on ESPN+. Fans can subscribe and view games by purchasing a monthly package for $4.99 or a yearly package for $49.99.
