Softball Collects 13 NFCA Scholar-Athlete Honorees for 2018-19

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Brown University softball totaled 13 NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honorees for the 2018-19 academic year, the National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced on Wednesday.
Three members of the Bears' Class of 2019 earned the honors including Cat Seitz (Poway, Calif.), Sofia Venegas (La Mirada, Calif.), and Meghan Wimmer (Boothwyn, Pa.).
Four members of the Class of 2020 collected the accolades – Sarah Fringer (Macomb Township, Mich.), Rebecca Mandelbaum (Livingston, N.J.), Kaitlin Okimoto (Burbank, Calif.), and Emily Waters (Northridge, Calif.).
From the Class of 2021, Karina Chavarria (San Bruno, Calif.), Grace Ladd (Boulder, Colo.), and Katie O'Leary (Manteca, Calif.) all gained the plaudits, and from the Class of 2022, Ivy Hobson (Los Angeles, Calif.), Lauren Innerst (San Jose, Calif.), and Elayna Tsiouplis (Langhorne, Pa.) garnered the laurels.
To be eligible for NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors, student-athletes must have maintained a 3.50 cumulative grade point average during the 2018-19 academic year.
