
Seckendorf, Sung Earn Brown Student-Athlete of the Week Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Women's squash junior Hannah Seckendorf and men's swimming & diving junior Joon Sung have earned Brown University Athletics Student-Athlete of the Week honors for the week of Jan. 14-20, Brown announced on Tuesday.

Junior Hannah Seckendorf tallied a 4-0 record last week helping the Bears go 4-0 as a team. A native of New York, N.Y., Seckendorf opened the week with a 3-0 (11-3, 11-3, 11-6) victory over Dickinson on Monday. In a doubleheader on Wednesday, she earned a 3-1 (11-6, 11-6, 10-12, 11-2) win over Amherst and a 3-0 (11-6, 11-9, 11-7) win over Mt. Holyoke. She closed the week with a 3-0 (11-9, 11-8, 12-10) triumph over Middlebury.
Joon Sung, Men's Swimming & Diving, Junior, Los Angeles, Calif.
Junior Joon Sung won the 100 butterfly and 200 butterfly and helped the Bears capture the 400-freestyle relay in a dual meet at Columbia on Saturday at Percy Uris Natatorium. A native of Los Angeles, Calif., set season bests in both the 100 butterfly (48.87) and 200 butterfly (1:48.65) to claim first place in both events. Along with teammates Cody Cline, Coley Sullivan, and Alex Smilenov, he won the 400-freestlye relay with a time of 3:02.32.
