
Seaman, Bastianelli Earn Brown Student-Athlete of the Week Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Women's swimming & diving junior Taylor Seaman and wrestling junior Nino Bastianelli have earned Brown University Athletics Student-Athlete of the Week honors for the week of Feb. 17-23, Brown announced on Monday.

Junior Taylor Seaman earned Second Team All-Ivy honors by taking second in both the 100 backstroke and the 100 freestyle at the Ivy League Championships. The Brighton, Mich., native broke her own school record in the 100 backstroke on Friday with a time of 53.82. Seaman finished the 100 freestyle in 48.85 on Saturday, just 0.01 from tying the school record. Seaman also competed in the 50 freestyle (third), 200 freestyle relay (fourth), 400 medley relay (fifth), 400 freestyle relay (fifth) and the 200 medley relay (sixth) at the championships.
Nino Bastianelli, Wrestling, Junior, Marysville, Mich.
Junior 197-pounder Nino Bastianelli posted a pair of wins last week, helping lead the Bears to a 2-0 weekend with a sweep of Harvard and Sacred Heart in EIWA duals. A native of Marysville, Mich., Bastianelli opened the weekend with a fall in 1:17 against Harvard's Evan Callahan, and his fall proved the difference in a 19-18 tiebreaker win for the Bears. He closed the weekend with a 7-2 win over Sacred Heart's Rob Hetherman for his 17th victory of the season.
