
Men's Crew Tops Dartmouth, George Washington to Win Atalanta Cup

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – No. 4 Brown men's crew earned a trio of victories, including the varsity race over Dartmouth to take back the Atalanta Cup, as the Bears hosted the Big Green and George Washington on Saturday on the Seekonk River.
Brown downed Dartmouth and George Washington in the varsity race, the third race of the day during slack tide, as the Bears beat the Big Green by nearly a length of open water in a time of 5:27.96. Dartmouth came in second at 5:34.02 before George Washington crossed six seconds later in third.
The Bears took back the Atalanta Cup with the win over the Big Green in the varsity and moved to 4-1 in head-to-head competition this season, previously beating BU, Harvard and Northeastern.
Brown then earned a win in the second varsity to close out the day as the Bears held off Dartmouth at 5:31.42. The Bears also edged Dartmouth in the third varsity at 5:38.10 before the Big Green crossed the finish line less than two seconds later at 5:39.96.
Dartmouth won the first race of the day in the fourth varsity at 6:03.39.
Brown will visit Princeton next weekend in the final dual race of the season before Eastern Sprints.
