
Gymnastics Sets Season High on Floor, Posts 192.100 at North Carolina

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Brown University gymnastics set a season-high score of 48.550 on floor, while falling to the University of North Carolina, 195.400 to 192.100, in a dual meet at Carmichael Arena on Monday afternoon.
Brown freshman Kate Nelson (Montara, Calif.) came in second place on bars with a 9.775, and senior Regan Butchness (Barrington, Ill.) finished in third place on beam with a 9.775 to lead the Bears.
Alongside its season-high 48.550 on floor, Brown scored a 47.775 on vault, 47.775 on bars, and 48.000 on beam.
Junior Julia Green (Exton, Pa.) led Brown on vault with a 9.725 while junior Gabrielle Hechtman (Bellmore, N.Y.), sophomore Anne Christman (Amherst, N.H.), and freshman Alyssa Gardner (Angola, N.Y.) all scored a 9.525. Sophomore Diana Manzano (New Braunfels, Texas) rounded out the scoring with a 9.475.
On bars, Nelson paced the Bears with her 9.775 while freshman Emma Hansen (Cincinnati, Ohio) followed with a 9.650. Freshman Caroline Warren (Pawleys Island, S.C.), senior Anya Olson (Farmington Hills, Mich.), and senior Claire Ryan (Greenwood, Minn.) notched a 9.625, 9.525, and 9.200 respectively.
Butchness posted the team's top score on beam with her 9.775. Freshman Rose Domonoske (Park City, Utah) registered a 9.750, and Hansen tallied a 9.675. Ryan and junior Cassidy Jung (San Marino, Calif.) notched a 9.500 and 9.300 apiece.
On floor, Green tied her personal best with a 9.800 while Olson set a season high with a 9.725. Manzano matched her season high with a 9.700, senior Anya Barca-Hall (Santa Cruz, Calif.) scored a 9.675, and Christman tied her season best with a 9.650.
Next, Brown hosts the Ivy Classic, squaring off with Cornell, Penn, and Yale, on Sunday, Feb. 25 at 1:00 p.m.
