
Green Earns Two All-Ivy Classic Honors, Gymnastics Tallies 192.975

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Junior Julia Green earned All-Ivy Classic honors on vault and floor behind a pair of personal-best scores as Brown University gymnastics came in fourth place with a 192.975 at the 2018 Ivy Classic on Sunday afternoon at the Pizzitola Sports Center.
A total of seven Brown student-athletes gained All-Ivy Classic accolades on the day with Green (Exton, Pa.) leading the way with First Team honors on vault and Second Team recognition on floor. She placed second on vault.
Senior Anya Barca-Hall (Santa Cruz, Calif.) garnered First Team All-Ivy Classic on floor behind a second-place finish while fellow senior Regan Butchness (Barrington, Ill.) took First Team on beam, collecting All-Ivy Classic on the event for the third straight year.
On vault, junior Gabrielle Hechtman (Bellmore, N.Y.) and freshman Alyssa Gardner (Angola, N.Y.) both earned Second Team, and on bars, seniors Claire Ryan (Greenwood, Minn.) and Anya Olson (Farmington Hills, Mich.) both captured Second Team.
In the team standings, Yale claimed first place with a 195.025, Cornell came in second with a 194.350, Penn placed third with a 193.875, and Brown finished fourth with its 192.975.
As a team, the Bears scored season highs on vault (48.225) and floor (48.850), while tallying a 47.825 on bars and 48.075 on beam.
On vault, Green came in second place with a career-high 9.775, and Gardner and Hechtman each registered a 9.675 – a season high for Hechtman – in support of her. Sophomore Anne Christman (Amherst, N.H.) and Olson posted a 9.575 and 9.525 respectively.
Ryan and Olson paced the Bears on bars with a 9.750 apiece, marking a season high for Ryan. Freshman Emma Hansen (Cincinnati, Ohio) tallied a 9.675, and freshman Caroline Warren (Pawleys Island, S.C.) added a 9.500.
On beam, Butchness led Brown with a 9.775 while junior Cassidy Jung (San Marino, Calif.) scored a 9.625. Ryan and Hansen both posted a 9.575, and Green rounded out the scoring with a 9.525.
Barca-Hall took second place on floor behind her personal-best score of 9.875. Green recorded a career-high 9.825, Hansen and Manzano each notched a personal-best 9.725, and Olson tallied a 9.700.
Next, Brown hosts Bridgeport, Brockport, and Southern Connecticut on Sunday, Mar. 4 at 1:00 p.m. in its final home meet of the season.
