Men’s Soccer’s Welp, Schiller Named All-Region

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Senior Gabe Welp (West Chester, Ohio) and junior Daniel Schiller (Glenview, Ill.) were both named to the United Soccer Coaches (USC) All-Northeast Region Third Team, the organization announced on Wednesday.

Brown was one of three Ivy League schools to earn multiple All-Region honors, along with Columbia and Princeton.

Welp, who served as a senior captain this past season, was also named to the All-Ivy Second Team and has been a mainstay on the backline over the course of his five-year career. He started all 17 games played and paced the team in minutes played, adding one assist.

Schiller also earned All-Region honors for the first time in his career after he was named to the All-Ivy Second Team. The junior led the Bears with 13 points and five assists and also posted four goals. Schiller recorded five points in the Ivy League play and notched the game winner against Bryant.

Brown has earned five All-Region selections over the past four seasons.
