CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – No. 13 Brown University men's water polo fell to No. 20 Wagner College, 10-9, and dropped a 13-6 decision to No. 17 Bucknell University on Sunday at Blodgett Pool.

Playing in their second and final day at the Harvard Invitational, the Bears (12-9) fell in a narrow contest against the Seahawks (10-7) in their first game of the day before finishing the day with a setback against the Bison (16-3).

Junior Armen Deirmenjian (Beverly Hills, Calif.) led the Bears with four goals between the two contests. Sophomore Adam Fuller (Santa Barbara, Calif.) netted a hat trick against Wagner.

Next, Brown competes at the Julian Fraser Memorial Tournament at Santa Clara University with match-ups against No. 16 Cal Baptist (Oct. 19, 4:00 p.m. ET), Loyola Marymount (Oct. 20, 12:00 p.m. ET), Fresno Pacific (Oct. 20, 6:40 p.m. ET), and No. 18 San Jose State (Oct. 21, 11:00 a.m. ET).

Junior Armen Deirmenjian and sophomore Adam Fuller each scored a hat trick, but No. 13 Brown fell to No. 20 Wagner, 10-9, on Sunday morning in its first game of the day at the Harvard Invitational.

The Bears took a 7-6 lead in the third quarter and remained within 9-8 with under two minutes to play before the Seahawks hung on for the win.

Deirmenjian (Beverly Hills, Calif.) and Fuller (Santa Barbara, Calif.) netted three goals apiece, senior Travis Bouscaren (Cambridge, Mass.) posted two goals, and junior James Thygesen (Menlo Park, Calif.) notched one goal.

Junior Hudson Rawlings (Murrieta, Calif.) and freshman Niko Bhatia (Los Altos, Calif.) distributed three and two assists respectively. Thygesen contributed a team-best four steals.

In the cage, sophomore goalkeeper Riad Hallal (Coronado, Calif.) made 13 saves.

After the Seahawks opened the game with a 2-0 lead, Bouscaren netted a goal to cut the margin to 2-1. Following Wagner's second five-meter penalty goal of the contest, Bouscaren scored again to bring Brown within 3-2. Wagner led 4-2 at the end of the first quarter.

Deirmenjian initiated the second quarter's scoring with a power-play goal from the left wing. After Wagner took a 5-3 edge, the Bears tallied three unanswered goals to pull ahead 6-5 with 55 seconds left in the first half. Fuller netted a pair of goals during the run with Deirmenjian providing the other marker. The Seahawks scored with 24 seconds remaining in the stanza to knot the score at 6-6 at the break.

Fuller began the third quarter's scoring with a 6-on-5 goal on the inside, staking the Bears to a 7-6 lead. Wagner tied the game at 7-7 at the 5:56 mark of the third and went ahead 8-7 at 1:44. Deirmenjian equalized with a goal from the 5-meter mark before the Seahawks brought a 9-8 edge into the fourth quarter.

Following over six minutes of scoreless action to start the fourth frame, Wagner scored with 1:35 to play to pull ahead 10-8. Thygesen converted a 5-meter penalty shot with three seconds to go for the game's final tally.

Alongside the pair of goals from Penner (Atherton, Calif.), juniors Will Collier (Darien, Conn.), Armen Deirmenjian (Beverly Hills, Calif.), Hudson Rawlings (Murrieta, Calif.), and James Thygesen (Menlo Park, Calif.) each netted one goal.
Deirmenjian dished out two assists, senior Spencer Carroll (Newport Beach, Calif.) came up with three steals, and Thygesen and senior Travis Bouscaren (Cambridge, Mass.) added two steals apiece.

Bucknell responded with a 7-0 run spanning the third and fourth quarters, claiming a 13-3 edge with 2:19 to play in the final frame.
