Playoffs Worth the Wait for Harry Zolnierczyk
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Former Brown men's hockey standout Harry Zolnierczyk '11 has advanced to the 2017 Stanley Cup Final with the Nashville Predators and will meet the defending champion Pittsburgh Penguins on Monday night at 8 PM (EST).
Nashville downed the Anaheim Ducks on Monday, 6-3, to claim the Western Conference Championship with a 4-2 series win and move on to the Stanley Cup Final for the first time in franchise history.
Zolnierczyk has played in eight games during the 2017 Playoffs, scoring a goal to help the Predators sweep the top-seeded Chicago Blackhawks in the first round. He also added an assist against the St. Louis Blues in the second round and has seen action in all three rounds leading up to the Stanley Cup Final.
A former team captain for the Bears, Zolnierczyk was named the 2011 Ivy League Player of the Year after posting 31 points (16g-15a) in 30 games.
Zolnierczyk, a sixth-year forward in the NHL with 84 career games played, is the lone former Ivy League player to reach the Stanley Cup Final this season.
