STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Brown University softball defeated Stony Brook University, 4-2, and beat Holy Cross, 7-5, to complete a 3-1 weekend at the Stony Brook Tournament on Sunday at University Softball Field.
The Bears (6-13) have now won five of their last six games after taking two from the host Seawolves (2-15) and splitting with the Crusaders (3-15) over the weekend.

Metzger went 4-for-4 with four RBIs, two doubles, and two runs while McGregor finished 4-for-6 with three runs, and two doubles.

Next, Brown hosts Quinnipiac for a doubleheader on Tuesday, Mar. 28, beginning at 2:00 p.m. for Opening Day at the new Brown Softball Field.
During its time at Stony Brook, the Brown softball program donated $2,500 in memory of Danni Kemp, a former Stony Brook softball student-athlete who passed away at the age of 19 from an inoperable brain tumor earlier this month. Donations can be made through the family's Go Fund Me page.
