
Men's Hockey Closes Regular Season at Princeton, Quinnipiac

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown men's hockey team will close the regular season this weekend when the Bears visit Princeton (2/24) and Quinnipiac (2/25). Both games will start at 7 PM. Links to live video and live stats will be available at www.brownbears.com.

Last Time Out
Brown wrapped up the home part of the schedule with a pair of losses to Dartmouth, 5-4, and No. 3 Harvard, 6-0, last weekend. Rookie Brent Beaudoin scored a pair of third-period goals against the Big Green to pull the Bears within one goal, but the visitors held on for the win. Tyler Bird and Sam Lafferty also scored in the contest, while Max Willman had a pair of assists. Harvard used three first-period goals to pave the way to a win on Saturday's senior night.
Scouting Princeton
Princeton (11-13-3, 6-11-3) dropped a pair of road games at RPI and Union last weekend to snap a six-game unbeaten streak. Sophomore Max Véronneau leads the Tigers in points (29), while Ryan Kuffner has 15 goals and rookie Jackson Cressey has 22 assists. Colton Phinney is 10-13-3 with a 3.29 goals-against average and a .903 save percentage. Princeton is fourth in the ECAC on the power play, checking in at 20.2 percent, and is averaging 2.96 goals per game. The Tigers are 6-4-2 at home this season.
Brown vs. Princeton All-Time
This Friday will be the 166th meeting all-time between Brown and Princeton. Brown holds an 86-67-12 advantage over Princeton in the all-time series, which dates back to a 4-4 tie during the 1899-1900 season. The two teams tied, 3-3, in the first meeting of the season in Providence. Tyler Bird, Charlie Corcoran and Max Willman all scored in the first period for the Bears.
Scouting Quinnipiac
Quinnipiac (17-13-2, 11-8-1) fell to Union, 4-1, and topped RPI, 7-3, in a pair of road games last weekend. The reigning Cleary Cup champions head into the weekend ranked fifth in the ECAC standings. Sophomore defenseman Chase Priskie leads the team with 25 points, while Tim Clifton has 12 goals and Brogan Rafferty has 20 assists. Quinnipiac is ranked fourth in the ECAC in scoring defense, holding opponents to 2.69 goals per game, and is also ranked fourth on the penalty kill at 84.6 percent. Andrew Shortridge and Chris Truehl have split time in net this season. Shortridge leads the duo with a 2.26 goals-against average and a .914 save percentage.

Quinnipiac holds an 18-7-6 advantage in the all-time series between the two teams. QU claimed the first meeting of the season, 1-0, in Providence.
Beaudoin Scores Pair
Rookie Brent Beaudoin scored two goals in the third period against Dartmouth (2/17) for the first multiple-goal game of his career. He leads Brown freshmen with a stat line of 5-6-11.
Lafferty Leads the Way

Playoff Picture
Brown enters the weekend at 12th place in the ECAC standings. The top four teams earn a bye and the next four secure home ice for the first round in a best-of-three series. Brown has seven points and will be on the road for the first round but can finish anywhere from 11th to 12th in the standings.
