Gymnastics Closes Missouri Trip with 193.325 Team Score at Lindenwood

ST. CHARLES, Mo. – Senior Caroline Morant came in second place in the all-around as Brown University closed its trip to the state of Missouri with a 193.325 team score in a tri-meet at Lindenwood University with Seattle Pacific on Sunday afternoon at Hyland Arena.
After scoring a season-high 193.350 at the GymQuarters Invitational in St. Charles on Friday, the Bears followed with a second-place finish on Sunday, topping third-place Seattle Pacific (192.300) and falling to first-place and host Lindenwood (195.325).
Morant (Chicago, Ill.) finished with a 39.025 in the all-around, coming just shy of her season high score of 39.075 while posting Brown's top scores on vault and floor.
As a team, Brown registered a season-high 48.350 on vault, a 48.475 on bars, a 48.225 on beam, and a 48.275 on floor.
On vault, Morant paced the Bears with a 9.750, coming in fourth place, while sophomore Julia Green (Exton, Pa.) notched a personal-best 9.725. Freshman Anne Christman (Amherst, N.H.) scored a 9.675, and junior Anya Olson (Farmington Hills, Mich.) and freshman Ally Rudd (Olympia, Wash.) rounded out the team's scoring with a 9.600 apiece.
Olson led Brown on bars with a 9.775, tying her personal best and finishing in third place. Morant placed fourth with a 9.750, and junior Claire Ryan (Greenwood, Minn.) tallied a 9.725 for fifth. Senior Jorden Mitchell (Indianapolis, Ind.) and junior Maggie McAvoy (Charlotte, N.C.) posted a 9.625 and 9.600 respectively.
On beam, Mitchell tallied the team's top score with a 9.725 with Morant supporting her with a 9.675. Green compiled a 9.650, Christman scored a 9.600, and junior Regan Butchness (Barrington, R.I.) completed the Bears' scoring with a 9.575.
Morant placed third on floor with a team-high 9.850 while Olson logged a 9.750, and McAvoy registered a personal-best 9.600. Christman also charted a 9.600, and sophomore Morgan Hagenbuch (Norwich, N.Y.) posted a 9.475.
Next, Brown competes in the Ivy Classic at Yale with Penn and Cornell on Saturday, Feb. 25 at 1:00 p.m.
